Nuevo disco La Maquina del Sonido

Mi gran amigo Armando Molina festeja sus 50 años de carrera en el Rock presentando su disco Kundalini, distribuido por Emi Music y que ya se encuentra disponible en las tiendas MixUp.

Debido al afecto que le tengo, no me considero calificado para hacer una reseña objetiva de su disco, se lo dejo a los expertos. Tan solo diré que tengo la teoría que su tecladista (que también es su director musical) es un ser de otro planeta, muy bueno el tipo; el hecho de meterle metales y flauta le da un sabor muy rico a las rolas (reminisencias del Ritual, Santana y Chicago).

Mucha gente ubica a Armando Molina como el Organizador del Festival de Rock y Ruedas de Avándaro, pero además es un excelente músico, toca el bajo, la guitarra, el piano y canta. También es compositor. Prefiero hacer una muy breve reseña de otras facetas de Armando:

- Formó un grupo llamado "La Máquina del Sonido" y su gran éxito fue la versión en español de la Rola In a Gadda da Vida.

- Además fue editor de las míticas revistas México Canta y Pop, referencia obligada en los 70's.

- Tiene inédito un libro sobre el festival, su título provisonal es: "Avándaro, todo lo que se dijo y no se dijo".

- Produjo muchos discos de rock mexicano por ejemplo los del grupo El Ritual.

- Ha tocado con: Los Shakes, Los Sinners, Los Monjes, Méxiko 13, Rey Dragón, Los Hitters, Roberto Jordán, Los Camisas Negras, Los Jokers, Javier y la "Baby" Bátiz, los Locos del Ritmo, etc.

- Como productor trajo a México a Eric Burdon, Wild Child (el mejor grupo de covers de The Doors), Canned Heat.

- Como productor de T.V. trabajó al lado del psicomago Alejandro Jodorowsky en el programa "Happening a go go ".

- Conoció a la sacerdotisa de los hongos Maria Sabina.

- Asistió a un concierto de Jimi Hendrix en Los Angeles California,

- Entrevistó a algunos jugadores de la Selección de Brasil en los vestidores del Estadio Azteca cuando ganaron la final en el Estadio Azteca en 1970, si, incluyendo a Pelé y conoció la Jules Rimet!!!.

- También es instructor en el Instituto Gnóstico de Antropología.

- Tiene una colección de viniles y memorabilia bastante respetable.

En la actualidad creo que está muy devaluada el término "Grupo de Rock" pero Armando Molina y la Máquina del Sonido toman el micrófono, sus instrumentos y nos dicen: Música con Actitud hecha por el gusto de rockear!!!.
